On Jan 27, 2018 from 12:00pm-3:00pm the first gathering of “Oaxacan Philharmonic Bands Audition” on any university campus in the state of California, even in the U.S. will convene outside of the ARTS Building: Performance Lab 166 (Outdoor Area).

Banda Nueva Dinastía de Zoochila was formed in 2001 through the efforts of two brothers, Porfirio and Moises Hernandez, of kids between the ages of 5-14.

MUSIC EVENT
The University of California, Riverside Department of Music is honored to host four indigenous Zapotec community based bands. The invited bands represent multiple generations of musicians with the two pioneering bands established in the late 1970’s, in addition to the first youth bands founded in the early 2000s:
